Hindi Vikas Mandal (HVM) is a non-profit organization that encourages the study and the appreciation of the Hindi language. Many programs are executed to achieve the above goals.
Hindi classes are held at (HSNC) every Saturday 10:30 to 11:30 at nominal charges. Classes are run throughout the year. Over 100 students are currently enrolled. HVM also has a picnic in the fall in a park. Members (men) cook a sumptuous meal on site and all have lots of fun. The date for the picnic for 2024 is April 28. Picnic is free for members.HVM organizes Kavi Sammelan (reading of Hindi poetry) every year (May 19 in 2024).

HVM takes the lead in organizing the celebration of Independence Day in the Triangle area and nearly a dozen other Indian organizations in the Triangle area participate with HVM in the celebration. The
date for 2024 is Aug. 17. HVM also celebrates Dussehra where Ramleela is played on stage of HSNC Main Hall. An effigy of Ravan is built in the parking lot left to the Main Hall of HSNC and ‘Ravan Dahan’ is celebrated following the Ramleela. Ramleela and Ravan Dahan in 2024 will be on Oct. 26.
